Our history

Alarmtech

Alarmtech was founded in 1990 with a focus on manufacturing detectors for physical security. Our products are designed to protect surfaces such as walls, doors, and windows against intrusion. The company is built on extensive experience in the development, sales, and installation of security products – with innovation, functionality, reliability, and quality as our core values.

Since the beginning, manufacturing has been based in Poland through an established network of skilled and well-trained technicians and engineers. For example, the first MC240 enclosures were handmade in an old World War II torpedo workshop.

In 1994 Alarmtech had the opportunity to buy a factory and land in the town of Gniew, founded by the Teutonic Order in 1282. The factory was renovated to Swedish standards and equipped for production with surface mounting technology and modern robots. Staff were trained in certified electronic soldering. An R&D and sales department was established.

During the 1990s and 2000s the products were sold through two main customers: Alarmcom, later Siemens Security Products and Alarmsystem, later ADI. Later, the sales strategy was changed and today the products are sold through several electrical and alarm wholesalers.

In 2016, the company Fatum was acquired, adding to the product portfolio a range of junction modules with matching metal or plastic enclosures. Fatum’s business idea: to customise the junction module and housing to meet the specific needs of the installation, follows Alarmtech’s business idea that a magnetic contact with a wide range of different accessories solves most installations.

In 2022, a mechanical workshop in Järfälla, Primus Produktion AB, which had been a subcontractor to Fatum for many years, was acquired. Primus specialises in punching and bending sheet metal and also supplies other customers with fantastic products.
